Kingdom Insights – Stepping into Resurrection Life
I am so thankful to my Lord Jesus for dying on a cross on this day in History to redeem all mankind. Those of you who follow Kingdom Flame may remember that every resurrection season I say that the sacrifice of Jesus on the Cross, and His resurrection, is the central event in Human History. Everything that happened between the Garden of Eden and the Cross was all pointing to Jesus the Messiah and His redemption of us through the cross. The cross and the resurrection changed everything, nothing was the same after that, everything was re-defined in this new covenant sealed by the Blood of Jesus.
Everyone quotes John 3:16: and sometimes add John 3:17 also:
16 “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him. NASB 1995
Even Before the cross, in this meeting Jesus revealed to Nicodemus His mission statement – God so loved us that He gave Jesus to die for us, that WHOEVER believes in Him will have eternal life. And Jesus goes on in verse 17, saying that He was not sent to judge the world, but rather to Save.
In fact verse 18 is stunning:
John 3:18 – He who believes in Him is not judged; he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
The Old Testament Law and the Prophets spelled out very clearly God’s rules about what was sinful and what was righteous. And this stunning verse implies that whether we are to be judged is OUR CHOICE…. Because it says that if we believe in Jesus, we are not judged, but if we do not believe, we are already found guilty under the Law because we did not believe.
So what does to not be judged? In our legal system, means that WE WERE NOT JUDGED “Not Guilty” . but RATHER the prosecutor’s accusing case against us was THROWN OUT OF COURT, Dismissed, Terminated, with no further evidence or testimony allowed. Our Sins have been Erased, there is NO CASE that is brought against us.
On the Sunday after His Death on the Cross, Jesus was raised to Life showing to all that He had the victory over Death, and over sin, accusal, the devil and hell, and over the grave. So this resurrection Sunday (some still call it easter) we celebrate Jesus resurrection to new life!
Romans 10 : 9-10 says that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; 10 for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation. 11
So we see that all we have to do is believe and confess. But Why do you think it says that as part of our confession we must acknowledge the resurrection?
Heres a thought – It is in the resurrection that we see the Victory over sin, hell and the grave, and a gift of NEW LIFE! I like the way the King James translation spells this out:
2 Cor 5:17 – Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
Wow! Not only are the old things Passed away, Literally “Case dismissed for no eveidence, But ALL THINGS become new in Resurrection Life!
If you are in Christ, this week not only do we celebrate having the case against us and our former sins dismissed for lack of evidence, but everything has been made new in the power of resurrection life.
Maybe you have stuggled in your marriage or relationships – If you believe in Christ you can believe for that to be made new in resurrection power!
Is your business in trouble? As a believer in Christ ask the Lord to make it new and raise it back up this resurrection season!
I know so many who struggled with addiction, myself included, who became free when we came to Jesus our addiction washed away in our new resurrection life in Jesus!
Believers in Christ, I dare you to include 2 Cor 5:17 in our celebration this week of the sacrifice of Jesus on the Cross, so that the case against us is dismissed for lack of evidence, and we rejoice that just like Jesus arose on that resurrection Sunday , we too now live in resurrection live with the promise that all things have been made new.
And if you are listening to this and do not know Jesus, remember this: All you have to do is believe in Him and you can enter into this new life. If that’s you I encourage you to click the “Contact Us” to find out more.
